Leadership and Self-Deception: New Flash Movie

Just competed this new inspirational movie for The Arbinger Group and Berrett-Koehler Publishers, promoting the popular book on business and personal leadership: Leadership and Self-Deception, which has a near cult following and has spread via word of mouth over the last few years.  This little movie may help that viral effect and we hope for it to help sell lots of new books. Arbinger produced the video but we added the viral “wrapper” and last screen with back end opt-in form.

Sign up for a free PDF of the last 2 chapters of the book for a taste. Warning: you may wish to buy the book after reading the PDF. Good news: there’s a 30% off link in there with free shipping too.

New feature on this one: the embed option I am using here to embed it on my own blog now is not autoplay (a bit annoying on blogs) and requires that you click the screen to begin playing. Try it, you’ll like it.

Just added: It works! My friend Jeff added movie on his blog (using new embed feature) and got this from a reader:

Dear Jeff,
Your New Paradigm Digest is greatly appreciated.   It’s led me to many people and ideas of interest and value that I would have otherwise missed. The latest item to really catch my eye was the presentation by the Arbinger Institute regarding Leadership & Self-Deception.  I don’t do this often, but that day I went out and bought the book.  – Mo Charbonneau

Cool!

Viral Movies A Great Way To Expand Reach and Build a List

Imagine your own viral movie that folks love so much they pass it from person to person, building a large list quickly and selling your books or products

That is exactly what we have done with The Five Secrets and we can do for you for a surprisingly affordable price. Within 2 months of release, the Five Secrets movie was seen over 400,000 times, built a list of over 5,000, collected almost 400 blog comments and sold hundreds of books, all from the power of viral marketing and word of mouth. To this day, about 300 folks per day see this video, months after any direct marketing efforts. At the peak, the page was seen 10,000 times per day. Here is the movie:

Our most recent movie may be the best one yet: great photos, music and is short and sweet, with a positive message that so many want to hear in these days of doom and gloom. This one is based on Lynda Gratton’s book GLOW. And if you also like it and are inspired by it, please pass it on to your list using the share button on the movie. This also demonstrates the ability to embed the movies in any other web page, getting even more exposure. And the free gift for this is a great short chapter of her book you will enjoy. Turn up your speakers, hit the full screen button, relax and … enjoy!

Another form of this movie is taking an existing short video and putting it in a Flash “wrapper” complete with the same viral ready buttons and ending with the integrated opt-in list building form. This we did for the Mark Albion book: More Than Money. Mark had Free Range Studios produce the original video which had a run on his site and on YouTube. Our viral wrapper gave it another life and helped extend the reach and build the email list for the publisher Berrett-Koelher. Here’s the movie:

These movies are typically produced by larger companies for $5-10K. Kaizen Marketing can produce them for you starting at $500 for the existing video version. Contact us for an estimate and to discuss your project today.

Embedding Video and Flash Movies In Your Blog

YouTube started this idea of embedded video so that you can include other peoples content in your blog posts and there is no reason not to do this. Unless users state otherwise, the YouTube agreement is that anyone can embed and include these videos in their own web pages and blogs. Other flash based video and movies can also be included in this same way. For instance, here is the code I just copied from a new flash movie I am making based on a new book by David Korten. You can see that it instructs the browser to play it directly from the source:

<embed src=”http://bkconnection.com/agenda/speech.swf” quality=”high” pluginspage=”http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer” allowFullScreen=”true” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”600″ height=”470″></embed>

Now, here is that same code placed into the html view of my blog. Cool, eh?

Likewise, YouTube code is always available under the description. They have recently added some customization options. This one is set for 500 pixels wide with a blue border. Same story as above, you just copy and paste the html into your site or blog and there ya go. This is a related piece to the Obama speech above:
